Our mission at Exhale Movement has always been to celebrate diversity and inspire inclusivity in every movement artist, dancer, and athlete. We created our brand with diversity and inclusion built into its core. We stand by our statement that we believe movement is for every body. We believe that inspiration can come from a myriad of movement disciplines. And we believe in the importance of sharing stories from as many different movers as possible.
As a woman- and POC-owned, small startup business, we strive to be as transparent as possible as a company and want to be clear about our vision, mission, and values. We will push forward fully acknowledging that business is not as usual.
While we are absolutely ecstatic about launching our first real product, we recognize that the fight against racial injustice is NOT over yet. We are committed to finding the right balance of progressing as a small business while continuing to support the Black Lives Matter movement with actions.
We will continue listening. We'll continue watching. We'll continue educating ourselves as a company and as individuals. We will continue to share the knowledge and resources we learn to educate others. And we will continue to amplify melanated voices through action, while we continue to grow as a business that supports and welcomes diversity and inclusion.
In order to hold ourselves accountable, we've laid out our commitments of allyship below. Please know, this is just the beginning. We're definitely going to make mistakes. If you feel we're missing something critical, we ask you to reach out so we can update our list and we thank you endlessly for that emotional labor.
This July, 100% of all Pin & Sticker sales will be donated to The International Association of Blacks in Dance.
Moving forward, we will:
Plan to share and recognize Black inspirational movers and related movement styles throughout history. For example, the history and origins of jazz, tap, hip-hop, etc. and influential movers in their respective fields.
Continue to share Black movement-related companies, dancers, athletes, and/or movement artists that inspire us.
Continue to look for opportunities to sponsor or donate funds either directly to Black movers or organizations that support Black movers.
Seek out Black movement instructors across multiple disciplines, try something new, and amplify them.
Behind the scenes, we will:
Do additional research when it comes to product sourcing. There are still so many products we want to bring into the world and that means pairing with other professionals. While sourcing itself can be a months-long endeavor, we want to make sure that when we make something great we can promote the people who helped make it that way.
We're always interested in learning about and sharing the stories of inspirational movement artists, dancers, and athletes. Don't hesitate to let us know if there is a mover you're particularly inspired by, especially Black movers! We'd love to chat with them and provide a platform to share their Movement Story. Let us know who is inspiring you!

We are in full support of the Black Lives Matter movement and will continue to do all that we can as a company and as individuals to provide assistance in amplifying voices that need to be heard.
We have been listening. We have been watching. We have been educating ourselves. We have been consolidating resources to assist ourselves and others in making the biggest positive impact.
